Help - How to use the Florida Legacy website
(Powered by OpenDLS)
The Florida Legacy website is totally
database driven. There are no static web pages.
There are multiple entry points:
- Quick Search, a all the words full-text search.
- Advanced Search, full-text search with advanced search limit
capabilities.
- Browse main collection catalog. This is direct access to the
collections via the collection abstract, indexes, and other
desriptive information, including digital collection
resources.
Why doesn't the back button work?
A form is used to gather your search criteria. Current browser
technology doesn't permit you go 'back' past a form web page. This
is why additional navigational links are provided. You will see
these two links, use them instead of your back button. A complete
search history (for your current session) is also provided so you
can repeat previous searches.
Quick & Advanced Search Help
Quick
Search
Quick Search searches only the author, title, and subjects
field. All records may not have data in each of these fields. If
you don't get satisfactory results use the 'fulltext' search via
the Advanced Search interface.
Advanced
Search
Advanced Search is a full-text search across all fields in the
database. This includes author, title, subjects, dates, and
full-text (when available).
